"I have a dream!" you said.

My mentor in mentoring group, Teh Juan hafidzahullahu ta'ala, sent us video link to watch, review, and share the insight we got from the video.

Last Thursday, she sent us a video that read a book titled "Yan's Hajj, Journey of a lifetime"

The story begin with a muslim named Yan want to perform pilgrimage to baitullah. Yan is a farmer who work very hard to achieve that dream. Years later, he have a bag of money that I assumed for the travel expense.

In the end of the story, Yan can do pilgrimage beautifully. But, you know, I already thought there must be some problem to achieve his dream.

First, when the money already enough, he met some children crying because of their school was burnt. Then, Yan going to repair their school and of course the process need a lot of money and Yan using his money for it. This choice have consequence for Yan going back to his village and should start saving money from scratch. And he CHOOSE it so that the children can go learn at their school again.

Years later again, he already have enough money and go to Ka'bah. But, before he arrived at Ka'ba yet, he met a boy whose leg is in pain. He should work for a man because of money (I forgot the money were gone or something). And again, Yan CHOOSE to pay for him so that the boy do not have to work.

Later the boy say his name, Habeeb, he don't have place to go. And Yan CHOOSE to live with him. Habeeb helping him also in his farm.

Years later again, Habeeb said wants to looking for his parents. And Yan permit him, although he know without Habeeb the work did not finish as fast as with Habeeb. Until years later Yan have money and want to go to pilgrimage. Then, he go alone by himself.

In the trip, he met with some people who wants to build mosque but did not have enough money. And YaAllah, again, he CHOOSE to give his money.

It's already the 3rd times he have to go back and forth to his village because he can not do pilgrimage yet. But he still keep his dream. He is an old man now; his physical strength is not as great as he young. But he CHOOSE to keep trying to achieve his dream.

One day, Habeeb come back and say "Let's do Hajj (pilgrimage), I will accompanying you" this statement conceive Habeeb who will bear the cost to Hajj. And masyaAllah, finally he can do Hajj. Even on the way they go, the people that Yan helped before, greet him respectfully.

This journey, of a lifetime, start with "I love you Allah" and end with the same statement.

I feel this story so... opulent
Allah already outlining anything in Lauhul Mahfudz 50.000 years before earth and sky created. But whyyyyyy I still did not have the courage like Yan, who keep his dream and keep trying any halal and sunnah ways to achieve it... Whereas Allah says in the Quran;

"No calamity ˹or blessing˺ occurs on earth or in yourselves without being ˹written˺ in a Record before We bring it into being. This is certainly easy for Allah. We let you know this˺ so that you neither grieve over what you have missed nor boast over what He has granted you. For Allah does not like whoever is arrogant, boastful— those who are stingy and promote stinginess among people. And whoever turns away ˹should know that˺ Allah ˹alone˺ is truly the Self-Sufficient, Praiseworthy." (al-Hadid/57:22-24)

Dear myself, please, never lose hope, Allah already outlining anything. Please, keep trying! You only need to do what you can do. It's okay to feel failed in dunya but get up again with better spirit that what you want to achieve is only because of Allah. Dear myself, let's conquer yourself!!! Fighting!!!
